... the rope tow across to the Mannlichen restaurant and then on to the high blue run to the Gummi chair. This cut out the drop down to the Lager chair and I hoped would make the journey quicker. The cloud had made the light conditions very flat with little definition and light snow had started to fall so none of the detail on the run could be see. At one point on the run down from the Gummi chair to the Arven chair I did not see a dip in the slope which was about 6m ...

As we went up the hill we entered the cloud and then broke through into clear blue skies as we got to Mannlichen at the top. The views were spectacular with the mountains all sticking up out of the clouds all around us.

We stayed in a small town of Airolo just north of Lake Lugano, We took the high speed train for a couple hours, It was a very cute little town and luckily we didn't even have to worry about getting to the hotel since it was just across the street!
