The end of the beach part of our holiday has arrived and we start to head North for a different experience. I considered the highlight of the day being the bridge/tunnel crossing of the entry of Chesapeake Bay to the Atlantic Ocean. It is looong.

Next stop was "linner" as Barb calls it, at her favorite crabcake restaurant, Captain's Galley II, on the waterfront in the Ocean City harbor. We three enjoyed the crab filled cakes and adult Orange Crush drinks.

The Conaway's and the Beauchamp's left Stockton, MD at 5 p.m. and the Porter's fell in the convoy in Snow Hill. We traveled to Cumberland , MD and slept in a Walmart lot. This night start enabled us to avoid the morning work traffic from the Bay Bridge north. 281 miles traveled.

Environmental education programs are year round and take place at the nature center. We never have camped here before and we loved it. The girl at check in was very pleasant and the rangers patrolled often during the day and night. The bathrooms were very clean and the showers hot. Great place to ...
1. Cape Hatteras National Seashore, NC – Outer Banks- Ocracoke Campground- April 27, 2015 with pass $10
This is one of four campgrounds in the National Seashore and the only one that takes reservations. None of the campgrounds have hookups. One needs to take the fee ferry from the mainland or the free ferry from Hatteras Island to reach Ocracoke Island.
