Last time I was in Alaska, I was one of the 80% of tourists who don't get to see Mt McKinley. That August in 2006 there were, apparently, 28 days of rain - and I was here for 25 of them! ... One morning when T. was sleeping in i was going to put the house dogs back, which resulted in something like "Can you get Naked tomorrow?" or "I'll get Naked in the morning." "Chilli is getting at the ropes again!" "Cookie went for I'll Have Another." Fat Chance, Storey, Sparkplug, Ranger, Mudflap, Tread, Slick, Pops (or Scooby), Secretariat, Gun smoke, Toot, Puddles, Kobuk, Dude,...

... me. Somehow the snow doesn't only throw a blanket of white over everything, it also seems to increase the silence. As soon as i walked through the dog yard, a few chains rinkled and those dogs stepped out to see what was going on. I picked up a bucket, a shovel, and adjusted my headlight. You might not really believe me but i really didn't mind poop scooping. In fact, i quite liked it. It was a good opportunity to see the dogs, get to know them and sneak in ...
