Gracious and Relaxing!
We spent our 25th anniversary at the Gables and had a wonderful time. We stayed in the Governor's Room. It was spacious, beautifully decorated and the bed and chairs were very comfortable. The Christmas decorations are really wonderful, there was even a small tree and other decorations in our room. There are lots of movies available to borrow and every amenity you might want. The innkeepers are helpful, low-key and unobtrusive and there are helpful signs to explain how things work. Breakfasts are delicious and beautifully served. While in town be sure to enjoy a trip to the Busckstaff Bath House. We had two trips included in the package we purchased. I had lots of aches and pains when I arrived and left three days (and three Buckstaff trips) later without a single ache or pain and feeling like a kid. I'm addicted. The grounds are beautiful, they have three large fountains, an exercise room in the old summer kitchen, and much more.
Cozy with just the right ambience
Our weekend was a gift from our son and daughter in law. I loved the place as soon as I stepped inside. The innkeepers are both wonderful--welcoming, efficient, gracious and low key. It was beautifully decorated for a Victorian Christmas and the Lillian room was so nice! Everything was spotlessly clean and authentic while also very comfortable. The breakfasts were amazing and we enjoyed visiting with some wonderful couples also there.
We have already recommended the Gables Inn to many friends and will continue to do so. It was an excellent weekend we hope to repeat. Will definately go again.
Wonderful place to stay
The Gables Inn is a wonderful place for a romantic get-a-way. My husband and I stay here quite often. All the rooms are wonderful and well kept. The inn keepers do an excellent job of taking care of your every need.
It is located within walking distance of downtown Hot Springs. It is beautiful to walk through there at night looking at all the historic sights.
I do not normally write reviews concerning my stay at a hotel but since this was my first B&B I thought I should write something so others will not waste their money on The Gables.
I did not write a review immediately because I thought my husband and I were simply not liked by the innkeepers. Now, I see that I was NOT the only ones.
My husband and I had the feeling that we were not welcomed in this home. It is a pretty expensive place to be if you are not felt welcomed!!
The breakfast was certainly nothing to get excited about. In fact, it tasted as if it was out of the frozen section rather than home baked. I did hear from a number of locals the place to stay was the Wildwood B&B. We will be back but at a different location.
We stayed here in the Sunshine room in Nov. It was truly wonderful!! However, the room is small, and the jacuzzi tub is not "private" because it's off to the side in the bedroom area. There is no seperation b/w the two.
They had just decorated the house for Christmas and what a job they did!! Breathe Taking!!! The Inn keepers were wonderful, and Judy went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as stress free as possible...The breakfast was awesome!! Very fancy, like award winning receipes you would find in Southern Living.
I can not express enough how great our package (included with our stay) was. They had all our tickets ready for us when we got there, which was a BIG help!! Highly recommend BuckStaff Bath House, Coy's, and Garvan Woodland Gardens (especially this time of year for the spectacular Holiday lights display, and the hot chocolate they serve at night for the display was the best). It was soooo Beautiful! I am already planning our trip for next year and look forward to staying again at Gables Inn Bed and Breakfast!!
Great details, bad attitude...
My husband and I stayed at the Gables Inn in conjunction with a wedding. Although the rooms are clean, every amenity is provided and the location is great this place has a few flaws.
The owners are obsessed with rules and are unfriendly. Normally, I have not problem with this, but when I am reminded consistently with miniature signs (posted everywhere) and there is a palpable feeling of unfriendliness, it wears. I do not recommend staying here if you value helpful, accommodating service.
Celebrated My 60th B'day
This place certainly added to our celebrating my 60th b'day. We stayed in the Lillian Room with a balcony, claw foot tub and excellent shower. This was a small room but big enough for two.
Down town is a good 3-4 block walk.
Good off the street parking here.
The innkeepers are both super nice, provided an interesting tour of the home and delicious breakfast.
Beautiful yard with various places to sit for a chat.
We have already recommended it to our friends and family.
Gables Inn is Wonderful!
My Sister and I stayed a couple of nights at the Gables Inn, Hot Springs, AR., back in July 2001, right after our Mother died. Our stay was extremely plesant. The Govenor's room was very nice and it was large. It was very clean and the private bath was equally as nice. We loved the breakfast and the inn keepers were personable. Overall, the stay was excellent.
The Gables is the best
My new bride and I stayed at the Gables Inn for our honeymoon. It was the picture perfect honeymoon, we can not ask for more. The Gables is absolutely perfect. We will be celebrating our anniversies there for years to come. Breakfasts at the Gables we great, our room, The Governors room, was nothing less than impressive. Bed was large and the most comfortable Ive slept in. The heart shaped jacuzzi tub was terrific and put us both to sleep. It was a very quiet and relaxing experience, and we cannot wait to go back.
Great Time at Gables Inn
My wife and I had a fantastic weekend at the Gables Inn . We were in the Governor's room which is a very large room with great antique furnishings and a heart shaped whirlpool tub. The innkeepers were very nice and made sure that our stay was a pleasurable experience.

We drove about 400 miles today. A little further than we had wanted, but we relaxed when we arrived. We are in a very nice RV park, Arkadelphia RV Park. We have driven through much farmland. Soybeans, corn and now some cotton fields. Farmers are praying for dry weather and wind to dry out their fields. The further south we came, the fields are drying enough and the farmers are busy with their ...
... visiting before the MacDonald's headed home to a Saturday work project. The rain storm last night, which had little effect on our location, created major destruction in the nearby towns of Malvern and Sheridan, AR. We witnessed miles of downed trees and wires making us realize how lucky we were.
No room in the campground for us to stay longer, so we headed south winding up in Jackson, MS for the night.
... we leave here, and looking forward to that.
Still doing a lot of online reviewing of motorhomes for sale - wondering what awaits us once we get to Texas!
Per Shanna Wimpee - next time we're here we should check out Lake Ouachita State Park - full hookups, 50 amp power, right on the lake (Site 25. Loop A.), current price $30/night. We'll take a ride out and check that out one day, too, as long as we're here!
Went to Bill Clinton's Presidential Library & Museum today. It is an amazing Presidential Center on about 35 acres. It includes the library, a 20,000 square foot dramatic glass structure overlooking the Arkansas River, a park area that has the Clinton Park Bridge and a separate building which is the Clinton School of Pubic Policy, affiliated with the University of Arkansas. The library is very well ...
... odd angle with two guys standing beside it, they looked like they were waiting or looking for something or someone. The fest was ending and all the vendors were tearing down, loading up their trucks and heading out and i noticed they were all parked on the street. I looked up at the post and for the first time noticed the, 'For Loading/Unloading' sign. On ****, it looked like they were waiting for the owner of the motorcycle who was maybe in ...
