... out came the Christmas tree lights again. We played tourist today and drove north up to Flagstaff (and got into some crazy weather) by way of Jerome (hail) and Sedona (rain). ... had such cool stuff inside.  There was even an old western saloon!  Heather, Carter and I went for a hike up the mountain to an old gold mine.  The view was spectacular.  Carter and Heather were very fortunate to have the own private tour guide. There must be some kind of special power in this town as the brownie with ice cream which I shared with Poppy was delicious. The area is in the centre of Coconino National Forest and there were heaps of lodges etc for those who wish to hike the many trails in the park. See ...

... feature very heavily in our conversations, so you can imaging how stoked we all were when Nick's surprise stop today was one of Forrest Gumps memorable moments. It's the one where Forrest is running around the country with a whole lot of people following, he's on highway 63 mile marker 13, he stops and says "I'm tired, I'm goin home". Brilliant we all had to have a photo of us running up the hill.
