Awoke to a beautiful sunrise over the mountains. Packed a picnic lunch and fishing gear and hit the road. Stopped at our favorite breakfast restaurant - Banner Elk Cafe. Kevin made pancakes and sausage for breakfast. We took our time getting ready because the views out our kitchen window were spectacular autumn magnificence to the nth degree.

Stopped at a country general store/outfitter/blast from the past. We really enjoyed this.
