We got up at 2:30 in the morning to start our EPIC road trip of a lifetime! Then we hit the road at 3:15 and it was smooth sailing to Chicago. Annalena had no problem sleeping for the majority of the drive, and the rest of the time she was happy and excited to be in the car. It was a great start to our trip.

... to pick up our refugee - Gaile Harrell and we shopped till we couldn't get any more into the shopping carts (3 of them). Look out Jodi, the stuff is on the way to your house. LOL. ... have horrible records when flights our delayed. But once again Delta surprised us, indeed they did hold the plane. So after a frantic whirl through the JFK from terminal 2 to 4 or maybe it was 4 to 2 we reached our departure gate. The other eight Iceland bound people boarded the plane quickly however, for some reason my travel companion and I were not checked in and the flight was full. ... a canvas canopy to protect you from the sun and the rain, but for some reason they didn't put in any type of anti-mosquito devices. Oh, well, nothing is perfect.

Tomorrow we plan to hit the road and find some more antique stores along the way. We'll cross over into Ohio early in the morning and we plan to stop in Maumee, Ohio, which boasts one of the largest antique malls in the country. We'll see.
