... too. There are all manner of boats in the harbor…small, personal fishing boats, mega yachts, sail boats, power boats, fishing charter boats, whale watching boats and everything in between. Yesterday most of the commercial fishing boats left and there was a lot of empty dock space, but by mid afternoon the place was close to full again. This happens almost every day, no matter how ...
Auke Bay, Alaska, United States mvpandora... in a group. Of course, we went towards them. With our engines idling, we spent about an hour watching a group of maybe 20 humpback whales feeding together. It was an amazing thing to watch…they would surface, "blow out a breath with a loud whoosh", and all dive below the surface. Then we would all wait for maybe 2 or 3 minutes and then you could see a circle of bubbles on the surface and then all of the whales would come up still in a ...
Auke Bay, Alaska, United States mvpandora... Ketchikan is a cruise ship stop. The area near the dock caters to the tourists. It seems like every other store is a jewelry store.

Skagway is the very northern most destination on the Inside Passage. We had originally planned to go there in the boat. After doing some research and comparing costs, we decided to fly to Skagway instead of taking our boat ...
... musher and had to use the brake and hang on when the dogs took off because they were so excited to start running. It wasn't too cold. We were up there in tshirts and jeans. It was 90 in Juneau today and felt like 100 on the glacier. There are 20 workers and 340 dogs. The mushers live in small tents with huge and cozy sleeping bags. When the humans get cold, they bring some of their dogs in and sleep with them. Then we took the helicopter back ...
Juneau, Alaska, United States dueduedueThis is the best trip we do with the boys. Hamish has already asked if we are going back next summer. It works because they have enormous freedom to be little boys. The only two rules are tell someone where you are and don't wipe your hands on your clothes. Beyond that, they can explore the rock pools, climb rocks, make tools, skip rocks, try to ...
Juneau, Alaska, United States nicole.duncanIt was nice to see Alaska but it wasn't my favorite place. Riding in a float plane to see glaciers and eat the best salmon I have ever tasted was fun (we even saw some black bears). Other then that part of the trip though I was a bit bored. I can only sit on a cruise ship and stare at icebergs and mountains for so long.

Juneau, Alaska, United States georgelung... cabin journals and they talked about a beautiful waterfall just 15 minutes from the cabin so we decided to hike to it before we left for the day. They were right it was beautiful! And so we began our 5.5 mile hike back to the car hoping it would stop raining. Well guess what... the sun came out =] yeah! We even saw some Salmon jumping in creek along the trail. After 3.5 hours of hiking we reached the car dead tired. Drove home and it was ...

Juneau, Alaska, United States kayaker902... Chile and a girl named Cachet. They were both good fun and gave us some helpful tips. The brewery has a whole lot of different beer bottles from all over the world. Germany and Belgium lead of course, they have the good stuff from Mexico even though our favourite Victoria was missing, they have Imperial from Costa Rica, but they don't have any Swiss bottles and no Portugues ones, can you believe that? So if any of you want to change that, send ...
