Tobogganing down the hill from the cabin we arrived at our own frozen lake! Shelby and Chloe even had the opportunity to ice skate on it, what an experience! We also visited the local ice rink in Winthrop for a couple of days of ice skating - so much fun and the best chocolate chip cookies ever!

Wayne and I were very spoilt and given the opportunity to stay at the Sun Mountain Lodge without the kids (Thank you Uncle B and Aunty K). The lodge is set high up ...

A rainy 5 hour drive from Seattle and we were greeted with soft falling snow!!

Arriving at the cabin which is beautiful and toasty warm inside surrounded by a gorgeous white covered landscape outside. A perfect setting for a very merry white Christmas! Finally I can merrily sing along to all the traditional Christmas Carols from child hood and become swept up in the Winter Wonderland.

We left Sandpoint late, around noon. After blogging, packing, going to post office to mail postcards, stopping at Starbucks, going to the grocery to get the prop for Pippi's Idaho pic, and shooting a photo shoot, it's a miracle we left at all! We got on to highway 2 then quickly onto route 20 which is what Dad and I rode through most of the Cascades. It was truly surreal for me to re-trace this journey by car ...
