For years, you had to walk down hundreds of steps to get to the viewing area, now they have an elevator to make the job much easier. We spent all the next day touring the Wildlife Safari. It was an amazing time, with two trips driving among the animals and a visit to the Wildlife Village. The cost is really reasonable and the animal exhibits are amazing.

We were able to drive close to many of the animals, with the most dangerous animals separated by fencing from the cars.

Herds of animals were seen grazing on the hillsides and we were close enough ...

It was a beautiful day for a drive. The traffic cooperated and the total travel time was about 3 1/2 hours, with several stops enroute to stretch the legs. We passed Eugene and were just ahead of Lee and Claudia, when we stopped for gas in Roseburg. Pulling back on to the freeway, I saw Lee and Claudia drive by. We caught up with them at the next rest stop and traveled the last 10 miles or so ...

Another purpose of this journey is to help my nephew, Zeph, get water to his mountain home from the spring just up the side of a hill. Now he trucks container loads of water to a tank up above his house every few weeks. Zeph lives on about 10 acres of trees on a hillside just off Highway 5. I love the name, Wolf Creek.
