... to a parrot. It was a little smaller than a robin and sang and sang beautifully. I asked what it was as I thought that it was a nightingale. What do I know about birds though? Someone later told me that it probably was a Zenzontle, well known for its beautiful songs. I think that the name is an indigenous name so will try to ask a few more questions. Found the bird! It is a Mexican Mockingbird. Check the video out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_d-QZpnF Kb8
Huatulco, Pacific Coast, Mexico ladyandtramp... between what the French call “qualité-prix”. The best choice was the Hotel Flamboyant located right on the main square at 550 pesos. It was large and contained an element of colonial splendour, not to mention the swimming pool. In the end we opted for the Hotel Vinni-zza right across the traffic circle by the bus station. It was nothing special but it met our needs for one night’s accommodation.

... so after a bit of beach time we headed out to dinner at this great little place right on the beach. Not much of a sunset but had some great cocktails. Mark 3/5: Decided I should join the ranks of the dudes, however, never surfed at all, rented a boogie board. Turns out I was severely underpowered in the strong currents without flippers and the board acted like a sail meant that I couldnt get past the ...
Zipolite, Mexico markandbecs... no sharks, though I kept myself behind groups of other people so they would be eaten first...its just the kind of girl I am... So it had been years but I was back in the game, diving and swimming, and being bashed by the waves and foam (not really BASHED by foam PER SE...but anyway.....) and I was in an out all day while Shane worked on his *****in' tan..hehe, ah little lobster boy...ok I have no basis for that remark and he may cry when/if he ...
San Augustinillo, Mexico shanemilli... and I went back on shore to soak up the ambience and have a margarita. We sat at a table just off the beach and watched (and timed) the banana boats going in and out (a trip lasted from four to seven and a half minutes). The margs were disappointing (and expensive) but we still enjoyed ourselves. Huatulco is nice -- and probably even nicer if you get to the other bays ... but the more I see of beach towns, the more I appreciate Akumal.
Huatulco, Mexico ahartry... trip to Zipolite and Puerto Angel, we didn't do anything but swim, lie on the beach, and eat ham and cheese sandwiches for lunch and pancakes, crepes, and fruit in the mornings. When we finally left Mazunte, we were heading for Palenque with a stopover in San Cristobal de las Casas. As it turned out, Mariosh and Luiza (I don't know if I'm spelling their names right - sorry guys!) were planning on the exact same thing and we ended up being on the ...

Karyn and Leonard arrive safe and sound from their adventures in South and Central America looking healthy and trim. HUATULCO, Mexico 1life... day, consisted of torrential downpours all day long. That´s ok. It was just nice to get out of Oaxaca City. The traffic, air pollution, the honking...it was so relaxing. So this week has been a little stressful since we´re nearing the end of our first half of classes. Conversation class through us through a loop grade-wise, but hopefully it´ll work out. The final exam is two Mondays from now! Crazy. We get a week break between these classes and the next. Some people are ...
Puerto Escondido, Mexico spragk... has it is going to be the next Acapulco. I'm in the cheapy town where I can afford to live like a queen. Closer to the water is a well-paved road lined with mammoth pastel hotels with gates and security guards. In every trip there is the letdown after being in paradise. I felt that way when I arrived. I went straight to my igloo and slept in comfort. Then I went down and wandered around until I found an "Irish Pub". It ...
Bahias de Huatulco, Mexico kittenbum... had some beers in the afternoon and got a boat ride back to our bay. That night we had a gorgeous seafood dinner on the beach before capping it off with some drinks before bed! The next morning we woke up early only to find that we had been stood up by the tour company that (we thought!) we had booked to take us to the nearby Lagoon to go early morning birdwatching. Not to be disheartened we thought we would do our own John, Kerry & Stina tour! We made our way ...
