I followed secondary roads and the countryside wasn’t at all what I’d expected. There were lots of wetlands and acreages with huge uncultivated fields. There were lots of little towns along the way and long stretches of hardwood forest and very few straight stretches. I’d never really envisioned it but it wouldn’t have been that if I had.

The next morning, Joyce (our sponsor contact) picked us up and took us to our first stop, the Boyd’s Kinsman Home, an assisted living home for adults with special needs. He had a huge crowd turn out for his show and they loved every minute of it. Lots of applause, laughter, handshakes and hugs during and after the performance made us want to stay there all day. ... the hood of the truck and discovered a problem with the turbo charger. We located a Chevy dealer about 14 miles away and headed there with black smoke pouring out of the exhaust. At the dealer's we discovered it was the hose on the turbo booster which blew off. They couldn't fix it but directed us to a Ford Truck Service Center south of Cleveland. They provided a spot to drop the camper and we went ...

Floyd and Joyce picked us up for breakfast at Panera's. Jim and Floyd went to the VA to help the Vets go to Bingo. Joyce and I went shopping and took her mother, Rose, to a doctor's appointment.

We met Toni, Richard, and Danielle at Chili's for dinner. After dinner we went to the VFW to play Bingo.
