... What more could you ask friends for? Angela - I always get a chance to slow down when I get here. I take naps, sleep in, gaze out at the night sky and check my phone less often. Seth's mom (Jo) likes to call it my "time to detox from the city". ... ...

It was a great 2nd day in the finger lakes! We started the morning by going to Watkins Glen State Park, which is right at the base of Seneca Lake. Coming from Watkins Glen we hit the Falls Overlook first with a view of Taughannock Falls from above, just a minute walk from the parking lot. Then we drove down to the Lower Falls entrance and took the easy Gorge Trail to the end and back starting at 10:55. It took us about 20 min to reach the falls and we spent 10 min there looking around and ...

... falls for about five minutes, allowing you to experience the falls cascading down around you. It is awe inspiring to stand at the bottom and look up as millions of gallons of Lake Ontario flow over the edge 200 feet above you and cascade onto the rocks located only fifty yards from where you are standing. You get soaked. You are deafened by the sound. And you want to do it again as soon as it's over!

    After ascending ...
