Leaving and Flights day!
... checked luggage was exactly the weight it had to be - 44 lbs. LOL Went through security, no problems. Everything went according to plan.

The Time is Here!
... on to make history. We will attempt to climb through the lower Himalaya's up the Khumbu Valley to Everest Base Camp and then to the summit of Kala Pataar. Although Kala Pataar is a small peak by Himalayan standars, its summit sits at an impressive 5643m (18,514ft), higher than the tallest peak in the Canadian Rockies!

We turned own a little spur road and headed toward a narrow bridge. “Narrow bridge” means water, so we kept moving forward and right before the bridge saw an overgrown path off to the left. We checked it out and it passed the vote—this is home for the night. It smells of clover. It is on a slowly moving creek and used to be a camping spot about 3 years ago, we’d say.
