... were annoyed, and immediately disappeared, sharing cabs (at great expense to themselves) to go into Rome anyway. About 2/3s of them managed to go into the city and then proceeded to go and visit many of the sites that we had planned for Monday's field trip. By this time, we were doing a lousy job of hiding our irritation.

... So we are nothing if not flexible and today was deemed the free day, so some did venture on the later train, so went up to a villa, another group I don't know about yet and some including me stayed in Frascati proper.

Was this morning a dream? Have I been dreaming this whole holiday? It's still not sinking in that we've seen and experienced some amazing things during this entire holiday. This morning was another surreal moment to say the least. We were walking towards St Peter's Square to get the hop-on/hop-off bus. As we approached the Vatican we noticed that it seemed busier than usual, then we saw the massive crowds outside the dome and could hear a voice over loud speakers addressing the crowd. As ...
