We have now left the magnificent scenery of the mountains, and are now driving across the prairie with not much to see. We are going to spend the night in Rawlins. It here we meet a few interesting characters and spend some time conversing with them. Lots of cute little cotton bunnies wandering around the camp ground. Looks like we have a nice night here in Rawlins, as it can be one very windy place.

We make it to Parley's Summit at 7250 while still in UT and we are going to level off around 6800 near the border. Luckily I have my altitude app so I can tell at any time how high we are (in altitude not the number of drinks ...

Today we embarked on a journey of about 600 miles (965 km), a fairly long haul which would take us into Wyoming and across the continental divide.

The first stop of the morning was Deadwood South Dakota, seat of Lawrence county, the eponymous local of the HBO series, and the final resting place of Wild Bill Hickok. Continuing our theme of visiting the grave sites of folks we think were cool, we visited Mount Moriah Cemetery and paid our respects ...

... Teton is beautiful and there was plenty more to explore, we decided to start the journey home today rather than wait till tomorrow morning as originally planned. We very much want to be home by Saturday evening because Sunday is Clara's birthday and we have tickets to see "Matilda" on Broadway. I don't know why I thought it was a good idea to go to the city the day after getting home from a huge trip, but it's too late to change the plan now. We ...
