    ... re staying in NYC for 10 nights and this is the worst place we've had.  We had booked this apartment quickly after our original accommodation on 58th St had to cancel just 3 weeks before we arrived.  We'll just have to settle in though as there's nothing we can do about it now.   We had arranged to meet Ian and Helen for dinner after there Day Trip to Washington DC. This was their last night in NYC.  We left our apartment at 7pm ...

    ... sandwich tasted like after the pretty horrifying airplane meals...

    Anyways, the basketball finals were on TV when we got back but I didn't have any energy left so I went to bed.

    Today we are planning on going to the beach and stay there for the weekend, swim and eat well, obviously throw some football.

    ... we took the whole unit outside and had them travel in their teams as “wagons” and stop at stations to hunt for moose and buffalo (those are the other units, har har har…), fix a broken “axle,” forge a makeshift river, and negotiate with a bandit. The team with the most points at the end of the event won a meatball madness dinner with my team, Raven 2! Everyone had a lot of fun, and so did we!

    Finally, at long last, summer break ...

    ... dates, I booked plane tickets. After the tickets, the next priority was finding hotels/hostels and reserving them.
