Green Hills and Rugged Landscapes

Flying EWR-EDI
... Mom and I went in Business Class from Newark to Lima, Peru. Back then, the cabin was fitted with 16 standard recliner-style seats with 55" of pitch. The new BF cabin is so much nicer – a really great use of space. I’m amazed they were able to squeeze the same number of flat-bed seats into the space previously occupied by the 16 recliner seats.

Scotland and London the 2nd
... by a suitable tune. The one that springs to mind was Holtz's "Mars: The Bringer of War", which was belted out on the approach to Culloden. We had been having a pretty good day - the weather was nice (21 degrees, a WORLD RECORD!) and there had even been a bit of whisky on the way, so spirits (definitely intended) were high. The next couple of hours were a lot more sombre though, and "Mars" set the mood for the battle-scape at Culloden, and the chilling, sad story ...
A Northern passage
... something that was seemingly placed there for effect, which I consider a pretty apt description. Not only does it provide an impressive sight to look at from below, but after ascending most of the way up, it provides a stunning viewpoint back to the city, the castle and across to the national monument. It also shows just how far the suburbs extend, something you don't really have a concept of from ground level.
