The curving glaciers were dirty white with ribbons of gray sediment running on the outer edges and down the middle where the great rivers of ice joined together. A closer inspection showed that some areas were a mass of ice hills, folds and hummocks that looked like the up and down scribbles of an angry toddler. McKinley ...

They may have up to 4 zygotes, waiting to attach to the uterus. Therefore the number of cubs will depend on their level of fat. If not enough fat, to sustain all, the others will be aborted. The cubs are born while the mother is hibernating, so at the beginning of spring they are ready to leave the den. Isn't nature ...

Another early start. Got to Anchorage airport at 5.45am for a 7.00am departure. Zoe booked us in at the auto-check in and a message came up saying that the flight was over booked would we like to take an earlier flight. We declined and waited with baited breath to see whether we made it on to the aircraft. We did and were off to Kotzebue.
A 2 hour flight to a very remote town 26 miles north of the Arctic Circle. We were picked up at the airport for a tour of the town and ...
