... this same storm before we go into Canada.  The countryside changed as we traveled from Nebraska into Iowa  - from flat and green and growing corn to rolling hills and green and growing corn. Iowa actually has some very pretty countryside. We are overnighting in Davenport at an RV/Truck spot, sharing it with one other RV. Tomorrow we hope to get around the southern end of Lake Michigan and we'll soon be ready to start speaking ...

... passing through several small towns on the way. Just like Dubuque it didn't appear enticing at first glance, it looked drab and neglected. However, the main attraction was like an oasis in the desert. The all-glass structure of the Figge Art Museum hosted some great rural American art as well as some other interesting exhibitions. ... After getting the kid's pennies we drove north along the Illinois side of the Mississippi River to check out this area. Boy the river was above it's banks often along this river road!

Illinois is another state we'll need to come back to for a longer visit!!
