Leap Day
Disembarked 10ish today at Abel Point Marina. Showered at the marina and made our way to the airport. Flew Jet Star #833 to Brisbane where we picked up a rental car and negotiated our way to our B&B - a 1877 house right by the train station, formerly owned by the railway commissioner.

We also saw dingos, giraffes, rhinos, zebras, birds, koalas and of course being steve erwins zoo plenty of crocs and snakes.
We spent about 5 hours at the zoo which is easily done. They have just opened the afica exhibition where they are introducing jaguars who we spotted at the back of one of the zoos jeeps driving around.. We headed then for hervey bay to start our fraser trip the next ...
Australia Day
I got the impression that a day dedicated to everything Australian would be celebrated in similar fashion to that of how the Irish celebrate St Patricks Day: dressing up in patriotic colours, getting a group of mates together and drinking from morning til night. And I was pretty much spot on.
