... we hopped off and found a lovely place called O'Henrys to have lunch. I had a cajun burger with a jalapeno roll, yum. It was actually a really nice day just sitting there on the verandah watching the world go by.

After lunch we got back on the streetcar with the intention, once again, of getting off and exploring a little but neither of us made a move to disembark so we ended up back at Canal St. A wander down a somewhat quieter ...

... crab legs)....so we decided on another mexican place and checked out Felipe's Taqueria....it was definitely a type of fast food mexican, but everything was ok and we ate up chips and guacamole, (I could live off guacamole I like it so much) and steak tacos.

We headed back to wander Bourbon Street, and saw another brass band playing in the street. So we listened to that for just a short while, they didn't play for too long, but it still was really cool ...

... suburbs,individual homes and new apartment blocks along with some new chain stores eg a Lowe's (like Bunnings) opened up. These appears no real plans as to what and where or even when change will occur. They are offering free debris removal made possible by FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Authority) funding and a special grant to the State but that is to clear the site only. Rebuilding appears to be what you can afford and what you like rather then learn from the past.

... told me ‘don’t accept sweets from strangers’ but he explains that you take the candy in your mouth and then have a shot of vodka. Sounds interesting so I try the orange flavour....what he didn’t care to mention is that when the candy gets wet it fizzes so I end up almost choking, which everyone finds quite amusing! Drinks done it’s time to head out with the others.
