“Superb!”
Great B&B. Very friendly hosts Jes and Aileen, excellent breakfast (all made by themselves, such as bread, marmelade, eggs, or from local suppliers, such as the great beacon), very cozy, free wireless, and tons of information. Don't be afraid of the Labrador-Doberman mix Roxy, she is barking, but is very friendly and only wants to be cuddled. Definite recommendation!

Much needed R & R
The past few months have been somewhat of an emotional rollercoaster. I went from being extremely excited for my parents to come and visit, to yearning to be able to get on the plane with them to go home. I'm serious... I was to the point where I was so frustrated and fed up with the way things were going here that I was so very ready to come home …
Napier and the Esk Valley

Romantic gourmet getaway in the vines near Napier
We stayed here for our anniversary. Great food especially the breakfasts and the scrambled eggs - superb. Lovely gardens and we enjoyed wandering about the local orchards, vineyards and up into the hills that overlooked the valley and Napier. It was early Fall so the hills were covered in snow.
Tasted new grapes and old wine at Esk Valley Ldg
Back in March. Got to try the grapes getting ready for harvest. Never realised how sweet and sticky wine grapes are. Always thought they were sour and bitter. We were taken for a tour around the vineyard and it was explained to us all about the grapes and the harvest. I have ofeten wondered why they have roses at the end of the rows. I thought it …
