Well, we're heading down the coast to LA today, but before we start we couldn't go without checking out a lovely vineyard in the Napa valley called Chateau Montelena. The winery is in Calistoga, approximately half an hours drive north of the city Napa, which you get to by driving over the Golden Gate Bridge and, on through Sausalito. Chateau Montelena was brought to our attention when watching a movie called 'Bottle shock'. It's a ...

... We picked up a dozen, put them on ice and put them in the car to have at a later date.

We then drove back towards Napa in order to visit a winery on our way home. The winery was my choice, so under pressure I told Ben the name of the one that I had decided looked most appealing. ... breezes made for a nice afternoon nap for Harlan and B 'did her thing' looking for more 'things' to keep Harlan occupied. Met some nice fellow 'Elks' folk and had a evening wine with them on the benches in front of the coach. Lazy Sunday-fun. Bar opens daily at 11 and lunch every weekday from 11 to ?. Wed and Fridays are 'special' evening meals we'll have to check out.

Moving day today. We drove into ...

Early Start, Late Entry

A travel blog entry by jilnmike on Sep 22, 2012

... Slow traveling in stop and go, bumper to bumper traffic in at least four times. That kept us on the road at least two hours longer than anticipated. There is no place to pull off of the road for a respite so we just tough it out. Both of us were on high alert for inconsiderate and unsafe drivers for hours...... and we had no trouble finding them. We were whooped puppies when we finally arrived in Santa Rosa!

The RV park at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds offers full ...
