    ... deal was the discovery that PRIMO, considered to be the top restaurant in Maine according to Food & Wine and James Beard, was in Rockland and had a table waiting for us!

    Lie Nielsen Hand Tools in Warren, Maine, deserved a visit and we all enjoyed the personal tour of the craftsman workshop where toolmakers precisely honed and shaped chisels, block planes, saws and more.

    Well, folks, this is it: our last month in Maine. Summer ended as abruptly as a roller coaster ride at the state fair, but just because I now have to wear pants and close-toed shoes doesn't mean the fun has a stop; winter is coming but it's not here yet.     ... couldn't take any time off of work, but he joined us when he could.

    Jess and I started the day off with a casual 3 mile run to burn off the inevitable weekend calories. In the evening, we took them to Sea Dogs for some lobster rolls, trivia and tshirts and then in a late night decision decided to hit up Hollywood Casino.     ... was very good. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and felt ready to go to the harbor for a photo op with Mayflower II (we were all agreed we did not want to tour it, although if it had been going to go on an actual harbor tour, that would be another matter). After visiting the ship, we had ice cream cones and started for Bar Harbor. We knew we would not make it, but decided to see how close we could get.
