A lazy Sunday spent at a charming little beach just on the other side of San Jose from the others - Cala de la Higuera. It's a bad dirt-road to get to it, but it's worth it. It's a pebble beach, but with patches of sand to make yourself comfortable. ... to some very tasty little tomato and tuna empanadas that they served. They tasted like awesome pizza rolls. They also served us platefuls of olives, shrimp, and potato bacon cakes. Not to mention the sangria served at this southern Spain style bar. I’m pretty sure I overtook my share of empanadas – I even took two to-go :) It was entirely necessary. ... hopefully in a few months I might be able to speak properly, my level is now in between ordering stuff in a shop and an incoherent tourist waving his arms and pointing to the map. So that gives you an idea of my standard before that! So 2 months in its going well, when I write again may be just ma be I can have a conversation?

As for trips around Spain I haven’t been on any yet, I think a day trip to Toledo the old capital might be on ...
