Day 14
... and doing all sorts of acrobatics - it was great to see. We went on to another beach and watched some surfers riding some pretty big waves, before heading back. On the way back we spotted yet another group of monkeys which were crossing a telegraph cable so stopped to look. We stopped in Samara again and hey presto we got some money out. There was a very comical veterans' football match taking place which we watched for a while before returning to base.

Turtles Nesting
... eggs in. They then go into a trance while they lay anywhere between 80-120 eggs into the hole over about 20-30 mins. (If you're having trouble imagining this, think the ping pong ball scene from "Priscilla:Queen of the Desert", but with a turtle instead of a Thai bride and you're pretty much there on the visual ...;-)).
They then cover the eggs back over and do a little unco turtle dance to compact the sand down, then drag their tired ...
Beans on surfboards
... is a little over 3 miles and doesn't have the hills that we had to climb yesterday. It was, however, very muddy during parts. There is a reason why most cars don't use this route. My favorite part was when we followed the detour through the cow pasture to avoid some of the really big mud puddles. This was obviously a path created and used by the locals. The final fling
... strolling on the beach.
On our second day, we decided to head over to the next bay for some lunch. As we reached the beach on the other side of the headland, we saw something flapping about in the shallows. I thought it was a ray, but as we got to it, it was an upside-down turtle :-(. Mike put it the right way up and it tried to head out to sea, but it was exhausted and not strong enough to make it through the incoming waves. I had an attempt to help it ...

Finally, I am curious why you get more cheers when you QUIT your job vs. when you get promoted or get a job? Does this make sense? So I tell folks that I quit my job and am traveling and I get this massive round of applause (somewhat exaggerated, but you get the idea)....I think I get it, but just seems odd to me.....ah well, think of Orlando...and his advice...You are on this earth one time!
