... to paddle. Ha ha. It turned out to be a thrilling and wonderfully wet ride! Luckily we had donned farmer John wetsuits, a fleece top and booties so the glacially frigid waters were no match for our clothing.

... and to see the beautiful lake, then headed on toward West Glacier. At Avalanche Creek campground, we stopped and walked the Trail of the Cedars, a beautiful, peaceful walk through cedars and other types of large trees. It was very quiet, peaceful and lush. ... the drive, but too much coffee at breakfast and heeding the admonition to drink a lot of water in the mountains. I was not alone. We pulled into a turnout which was equipped with an NPS unisex toilet facility… and a line about 20 people long… and promptly ran into retired Chief Tim Thames of the Shreveport Fire Department and his wife who are touring on a motorcycle!
