... ok, but no clouds to make the sunrise pop. I started out in Apgar village at the boat dock, then moved east up the "Going to the Sun Road" to the spots we’d scoped out the night before. The lake is within a fairly deep valley, so the sun didn’t actually show until much later than the official sunrise, although the best light was gone well before then.

... and drabs here and there, this snow was a metre thick in some spots and honestly once we got on it the only guidance we had of roughly where the track went was footprints left by others. To keep us on our toes there were also fallen trees over the track that required some climbing and manoeuvring.
