... some food, but it turned out they didn't. They did, however, have amazing beer and the first one I tried was a habanero-ginger blonde ale: despite having a slight kick, it was quite refreshing on this hot Montana day.

... as it had snowed 2 days before, although the sun was out now. The snow capped mountains looked fantastic against the crystal blue lake. The Going to the Sun road was closed at Logan's Pass for a few days but the sunshine melted the snow enough For the road to open 2 days later. We went all out and booked onto the red bus tour so we could enjoy the views in the open top 1930s small coach. So much fun. the views were fantastic.

... along this stretch of roadway...many places had nothing. As we climbed the mountains, you could smell the cool scent of the conifers. I spied a marmot scampering across an ice field, his coat a dingy gray. ... mountain goats, bison and bighorn sheep all kept us scanning the landscape for movement and the next sighting. A full day of cold rain grounded us for a bit, but we were proud to be part of the hardy few in the nearly deserted campground that stuck out the rain in a tent.
