... It lead us down a paved road, then a dirt road past some houses and finally into a field. We had to climb over the farmers fence (a ladder was provided) and a sign warned us to mind the cattle-leave only but footprints. ... Pass, just great with scenery and tunnels, and I'm astounded that I have never come across mention of it in travel books and forums.

Dinner back on the Quay in Bantry (four restaurants right in a row so if you are there long enough you can eat your way down the street). This time it was The Brick Oven. We went international with one Chicken with Linguini, one Quesadilla, one Pizza and one order of Prawns. Cheesecake for dessert.

Part of the way we kept the side door open so we could see the Gap on the way out.  They were headed to Dingle but had to stop in Killarney for something to eat so our trip was not out of the way for them. Hello dear guests, we are now in Limerick after a very long day. Left Cork at 9am this morning and drove round the ring of beara, which doesn't look like much in terms of kilometres, but when you see the photos of the road you'll understand. It takes about 1/2l hour to do 10 kim, you have a single very badly paved road with hairpin turns and all of a sudden there's a fully laden tractor coming at you from the other direction! or 1/2 doz bike riders in front of you. ...
