... auf meine Kreditkarte zu kriegen. Ueberall mit demselben Erfolg, naemlich keinem! Entweder war das Bankensystem (welches auch immer) gerade kaputt, oder sie akzeptierten nur nationale Kreditkarten oder die Bankfraeuleins waren, was wir eigentlich in der Mehrzahl der Faelle das Gefuehl hatten, gerade eher mit ihrer Manikuere beschaeftigt und wollten sich die zusaetzliche Arbeit mit Gringos Kreditkarten nicht antun. Letzte Hoffnung: Western Union. Oeffnungszeiten 9am bis 5pm. Um ...

... br> Now we're seated and I can smell something frying--potatoes maybe. The kitchen's right at our elbow--we can watch mama cooking through the curtain they've scotch taped to the window. But you know how good fried potatoes can smell when you haven't eaten all day? However...I'm not smelling ANY parilla (grill).

So what I get is fried chicken, fried potatoes in their own little pool of fat, rice with a cute little dollop of something red on top ...

... types of beer here...Pilsener (about 24oz for $1.50 out) and Club. Good wine is pretty much nonexistent. Cuts decision making time way down, let me tell you.

4) I made a Sweet Potato Pie with the other American here for Thanksgiving, but ended up having it the next day. For my lack of an actual feast, I ate entirely way too much Nutella...it was not the same.
