... rope is not typically the ideal situation. I didnt realize how bad it was until I reached Lee and he started freaking out. Luckily it was only about 6 feet from the end so he didn't have to cut too much rope. But we did have to carefully plan our repel with less rope stretch. When we reached the summit it was magnificent! you could see for miles over all of the towns and rolling green hills, it was breathtaking. And hot, the sun was blazing. So we repelled ...

... fried pickles--surprisingly they are not nearly as disgusting as they sound. I ate them all.

So we marked another year of marriage with another drive-in, another minor league ballpark, and the continuation of a geocache-a-day streak, all despite the perfidious rain. We will have to come back at the end of September to try again for the ATV ride, but all in all, it was a good trip.

Today we cycled into Blacksburg via Radford VA. Route 654 , the old Baltimore road was serene and a wonderful early morning view of this part of Virginia. We rode into Newbern and were engaged with the early history of this tiny mountaintop village...the homes dated to the early 19th century. Our life is not easy so we had to continue on busy roads for the remaining 15 miles.....life is tough...: ...
