... Tony's Pizza for a quick slice of pizza for lunch. We had to be quick as we had a short turnaround to our next activity - an afternoon's whale watching tour with Jamie's Whaling Station. Despite the warm weather, we were provided with full-body spray suits, which act as waterproofing, warmth and flotation all in one - a kind of buoyant duvet-lined onesie! Far too warm on shore but essential kit out on the boat. We were ...

Today was just another foggy day in Tofino. I woke up first and was followed by Dad. At around 1pm we went out to Tofino to shop for food and to get some lunch. Vancouver Island is definitely a place to come back to experience the many ...

... from their seats, but I’m sure a nice lunch will see them right again. We can’t see a Maccas or Tim Horton’s anywhere and have to settle for the deep fried offerings at the local takeaway. No worries, we’ll be in Tofino and on the beach real soon. It’s only a short drive, and there are no mountains. Along the way, I’m amazed at the ingenuity of the early explorers in naming the places they visited. Ucluelet has Big ...

... so after dry camping for a few days our phones, iPad and cameras are usually all dead. We had originally planned to head into nearby Parksville to find an RV park with power to charge everything & wifi so Ben could do some dentist research... But since we were through town before we knew it, we decided to just keep heading up the coast. We checked out several parks along the way and ended up in the Courtney/Comox area (mid Island). It was a really beautiful scenic ...
