... br> After returning to Port Alberni we went out for dinner and ventured out onto the wharf in Port Alberni - no photos as it was too dark - however the estuary, mountains, lights and clouds in the sky were all breathtaking to look at.

Tomorrow, Day 18 will include a ferry ride from Nanaimo to Vancouver, and in the afternoon, I will return the rental motorcycle to CycleBC.

  • The rest of the day was spent trying to find accommodation. We ended up in Tofino at a guest house which is like a B&b but without the breakfast. It's $110 for the night, Canadian dollars and it was just about the last vacant room in town!     ... dozens of islands off the coast. Stopped across from the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nations village. Saw a bald eagle and its nest perched on top of a fir tree on the way back. We were out for around 3 hours.
