De fleste sto opp i 5 tiden for å gå opp til Wayana Picchu. Jeg og Marthe fikk sove litt lenger. Vi tok bussen til inngangen til Machu Picchu. Vi møtte Tickets to Adventure og noen av gruppen der. Cusco - Basecamp for Machu Picchu

In search of Macho Pikachu
... and to have this once in a lifetime experience.
We spent the rest of the day exploring the ruins, and having a final lunch with our family. After lunch a few of us went on to the 'medicinal' hot springs in Aguas Calientes. If by medicinal they meant exposing your body to so much dirt and grime from other backpackers that hadn't washed for the best part of a week then I'm sure they were. Anyway, they were hot, it was raining and they bought alcohol to you....so we stayed.

Us Chickas survived the Inca Trail! Boo Yeah!!
... rest of the pack to get to our lunch camp...so we were famished by the time our meal was served...but oh was it worth the wait when a giant beautifully decorated cake was brought out for desert. Cake has never tasted so good! And cake also never made us feel so guilty before...as we later found out that it was actually the head Porters son’s b’day (he was on the trek for the first time) and we ate his 15th b’day cake...poor Alex!
