... Zealand Army Core) Memorial. Bill had really enjoyed the memorial in Melbourne, but this one was disappointing by comparison. St. Mary's Cathedral was across the street, so we went inside. It was very impressive. Constructed in 1882, it is the longest church in Australia, which you can see in the picture we took.

... Leah from the northern part off the metro area. And, elder Doug Gray. He is chairman of the Australian National Council. There were 10 us in all.

We walked along the quay. In port was the large cruise hip Queen Victoria from the UK. The weather was perfect...a bit warm....in the mid 80's. Yesterday it was 100 degrees in Sydney. the people here are saying that they are welcoming the cooler temperatures as autumn and winter are coming.

The area took many decades to turn around, and in the 70s it was proposed by the city to be demolished and rebuilt, however the contractors refused because they believed there was too much history and beauty to destroy. A petition to save the area was passed, and today it's the home to lovely shops, restaurants and markets - great ambiance. After the tour, we enjoyed a couple pints and wings on the rooftop of Glenmore, a beautiful view of the city scape. ...
