We decided to take the scenic route through the Wicklow Mountains, a portion of which is a national park. We stopped in Roundwood for lunch at the Coach House Tavern, a historic building with great food and huge portion sizes. Two of us had beef and Guinness casserole and two had cottage pie, which really hit the spot. Even Little D enjoyed scarfing down the beef and delicious sauce, along with a pile of mashed potatoes. It's So Beautiful!
If our trip to Glendalough had a mantra, it would be, "It's so beautiful!" We had gorgeous, mild weather and no rain. As St. Kevin's bus took us into the Wicklow Mountains, I realized again how beautiful the Irish countryside is. Yes, the island has some of the most consistently beautiful scenery, and it's apparent every time I leave Dublin, but the mountains are just extra amazing.
