After skipping breakfast (because of the UHT melk) we wandered towards the Markt Square calling into many shops along the way. Bruges is unlike other major tourist towns we have been to in that it isn't flooded with souvenir shops. It is a bit like a normal large town with a lot of old buildings. I remain totally amazed that these people speak more than one language. Their native tongue is Flemish - really weird sounding language - apologies to the Belgians! - but most of them can speak French, English and German.
