    ... it's all I can do to avoid everybody so good to be told what lane to head for and when. Around one thirty sees us pull up outside the hotel, valet parking so jobs a good 'un. Rooms not ready so up to the pool bar for beers and quesadillas, then into our room. It's another really plush place, change from twenty quid for two beers but when in Rome...     ... in Dubai and Becky does marketing for a lousy company in the region. We started off with amazing appetizers---scallops with a crostini, tenderloin with pesto, snap peas and some fish spread that I didn’t even want to chance eating…..dinner was king fish in a delicious truffle sauce served with an herb salad with fresh mozzarella. It was amazing to have food I could actually hold down!! And to talk with people who were not only smart, but also humble. ...

    ... high end stress in the departures area. I presume the other two terminals are the same as this is only one and it has two of all stores and a nice selection of eateries, so I have parked myself in the Heineken bar and having some breakfast. Nothing of note but it is better than what they called an omelette on the plane.

    ... heat levels rose considerably (44 degrees) causing distress for the ladies, despite drinking copious quantities of water - which then led to the next problem - where are the loos ??!! Some very helpful locals pointed us in the right direction but the heat damage had been done and decision was made to head to safety and air conditioning. So back to Dubai Mall and much need rehydration and refueling.
