      ... off running to the concrete vestibule of the Church entry.
      Bikes were still getting soaked with packs on board.
      Chris hands me the 'now found' keys and while she holds one of the sprinkler heads I feel in the dark for the padlock. And, because this is the maiden voyage for the padlock, I can't find where the key inserts. Sprinkler systems don't care if you're having difficulties...
      Finally, the lock's undone, and we're racing through the sprinkler ...

      ... don't-ever-come-here-again, and that's one way---but we learned something.

      Globe is the center of the copper world--so they say (the #1 producer for Arizona, anyway).

      After we left the canyon we came to a string of decrepit mining towns put together from garage sale left-overs.

      The towns were pretty yukky but the mines were Impressive---capitol I. You could fit whole countries in those holes.

      This is getting a little stupid. I realize we are in the southwest and it is June but over a week of temperatures over 110*F is starting to wear on our nerves.
