Since arriving in the Northern Territory I have spent at least 4500 km in cars, vans and 4WD Vehicles. Not keen on spending another 1500 km driving through the outback on 4 wheels from Alice Springs to Adelaide I chose another form of transport: The train. Coober Pedy
As we crossed the border into Southern Australia we were filled with optimism and shortly afterwards we completed our 10,000th Spaceship kilometre!! The Northern Territory is famous for being desolate, so logically as we crossed the border we could expect greener terrain, more manageable temperatures and more civilisation on our journey.

Of to find some Opals
... the court house building was blown up twice as well as a local news paper agency due a flat print of the showing of Star Trek in TV. Really random things.... After we had a small lunch and than visit the opal museum including a small mining tour. It was pretty interesting. Followed with the check in to our tonight's accommodation which you can guess will be underground. As most of the people live here. Pretty cool stuff. ...
