Hi Guys,

As you know, I'm back home in Alaska!

It was a great trip and I was able to meet all of my objectives (interviews, photos of sites, meet with local Rotarians and participate in events). Besides that, I made great friends, visit some amazing places and ate some great food!

Now my job is to help Daniel (in Guayaquil) to finish the Global Grant proposal and to start my PowerPoint presentation so I can present the project to the other clubs ...

... Testing. Up to this point Crystal had refused. Soon she just passed out. But what an ongoing drama to end the last three hours of our 12 hour trip! ... in the local pub and got a tip to camp on a dirt road where there were active gold claims. ... to take photos and be photographed in her Russian costumes to anyone who calls and books in advance and can find the village!! Our guess is that not many people do, but it's a truly priceless experience for anyone who takes the time and effort.

We certainly experienced Russia and we're now convinced that we know what Governor Palin meant when she told the American people that she could see Russia from her living room......
