... milloon, which is a very generous present!

As it was Wednesday evening, we settled in after our tuna pasta dinner with a few ciders to watch the Bachelor NZ. There were only four girls left and one had to go. It was very intense, but as we were watching it in the tv lounge with a Canadian girl we had met, Colm kept his cool whilst watching it! We are gutted we are going to miss the final as we would be in America. We will have to watch it online some how!

Got to the Dolphin Experience place around 5:40am and sat down and waited with other people. Most of the people from the room turned up too! Checked and waited until we were called through, watched a safety video for 15 minutes, it didn’t need to be that long really.

We could see the top of his front two thirds, ...

... with each approaching wave all the way back into port. One of our noteworthy hikes from Picton took us along the headlands and provided beautiful views of the Marlborough Sound and inlets we had kayaked the previous day, note the calm waters. It is time to continue our journey South to Kaikoura. Kaikoura was a former Maori settlement which later became a whaling station for European settlers. This is an area where the mountain descends to the sea and continues under the ...

We woke at 6:30 which was difficult but we woke to a beautiful day which it made it a little easier. The sky was bright blue, it was going to be a great day :-). The hotel provided a continental breakfast, following that we had a shower and checked out The Pier. 5 minutes drive around the corner was the Kaikoura whale watching encounter hut. We checked in at 7:45, had a safety briefing at 8:15 and we were on the boat for 9pm. It was a 3 minutes bus ride away. The weather ...
