Lunch done. Walk next - along the Kaikoura Peninsula Walkway. Up on the limestone cliffs, there's an easy track following the coastline. Great views of the coast and bays below and looking down on a seal colony. Dozens of seals out of the water sunning themselves on the rocks.

... it turned out to be one the best fish meals I have ever had! I mustn't forget that we had 80 fillets and 5 crayfish, so needless to say, we again had an excess of food. That's okay though; they'll make good meals for tomorrow. Tomorrow will also be a sad day. Jonny will be leaving us as he drives back to Auckland, where he will fly out of in just a few days. ... at five yesterday. I hadn't slept very well and felt really cold. I was rather looking forward to a nap in the afternoon than to getting in the cold water chasing after dolphins. But that's just gloomy "nobody-in-their-right-minds-would-get- up-this-early" thinking. It was still pitch black when I was walking to the other side of town.
