I am writing the entry for tonight's blog a day later and that is probably good. This was truly the tale of two days for us. The day was a very interesting one indeed. We left western Oklahoma quite early in the morning and headed west into Texas. From the panhandle of Texas, we turned north and slightly west to pick up the northern corner of New Mexico. We then ran up to Colorado and had some great highways all the way ...

... I-70 followed the Colorado RIver as we wound our way through the Rockies. The variety in shapes and colors and landscapes was breathtaking.

A favorite part of our trip was stopping in Denver. We visited Kelsey's cousin who lives there and went to dinner with her good friend Kevin. "Suprise! I'm in Denver! Whatchya doin tonight ...

... of relief on my face...and the alarm started up again. Second verse, same as the first. This time I left the hood up after the alarm stopped.

Anywho...after even more searching, I had to finally ask someone for a ride to work. My car keys were officially missing in action. As I stood at work, I started thinking, "I hope that I didn't pack them away in one of the boxes today." Then an even stronger nagging thought came ...

... barely got wet. It was a great time, but next time I go, I want to do some bigger rapids. The highest level we got today was a 3, and our guide was describing other places, namely near South Africa, where we should go to get some level 4 or 5 rapids. After that, we were on the road. We drove all day, through Yellowstone one last time, and past the Grand Tetons. They were beautiful, but it was kind of hazy, so we didn't get the best pictures. There was some crazy construction ...

Early start this morning. Left Colorado Springs at 4am and am now working my way through Kansas. Not much out here on the 70. Alot of open plains and cool air.

Riding north east on the 24 out of Colorado Spings I watched the sun start to come up. Once on the 70 and heading east I did see ...

... flew across the rest of the state to end up here in Goodland. Leaving early tomorrow for Colorado. We are only 17 miles from the state line now. The most exciting thing that we saw in Kansas was the windmills. Other than that, its been uneventful. That's all I have for now, I need to get some sleep for tomorrow.

It was a nice cool 54 degrees this morning and the sky had some clouds but mostly sunny in our travel path. There was heavy weather back west but nothing in front of us for a long way. As we headed out of Riverton we were greeted with the massive farm fields in various stages of growth and also fields that have not been planted with anything. Lots of sprinklers running and then there were fields that were dry land farmed being dependent ...

There are some words you just don't want to hear in the middle of the night. "Everybody out! We're on fire!" is a good example of that. I wasn't originally going to blog about the latest Leary vacation, mainly because I'm the only Leary on the trip but also because it's only three days long.
