... New Jersey apparently has the highest concentration of bears in the United States, and I was told many times things like that if I ever saw a bear, it would be in NJ, or that I was almost guaranteed to see one in NJ. But at the moment, I was just happy to be away from the rocks. At least I was until I finished the road walk portion and got back on the trail proper to find the rocks waiting for me. But it was fine: I knew the rocks continued into New Jersey ...

... t waste my time and money and would quit, no matter where I was. That was the closest I came to it, because while I've felt like quitting to some extent before, it's always been from the boredom and tedium of getting up every day and doing the same thing and the knowledge that I had months more of that to go, but I decided to stick it out at least until I got new shoes, and they fixed the problem.

... Diorama a visit to the Battlefield will be much more appreciated. We did a self-guided driving tour of the Battlefield. It took a good 5 hours to go through the Battlefield and was well well worth it. Absolutely spectacular. While in the wide open landscape of the battlefield, you envision the troops marching up the hills in front of you. This is something that everyone should see/do.

As we travel through this eastern edge of Pennsylvania, we noticed that spring had not arrived yet to this part of America. We could see buds on the trees but they had not yet opened and the landscape was that of winter even though the temperature was 72-degrees.
