    Another Awesome day on the road, Three stations and lots of great sites and people on old Route 66.
    Today I tried as much as possible to avoid Interstate 44. The old road for the most is great, the infomation centres are fantastic. The people know their stuff and are happy to share, loving this.

    Day 55. Sunday 19
    July 2015

    Arrived in Hannibal to visit with the ghosts of Tom Saywer and Huckleberry Finn. This is the town where Samuel Clemens better known to many of us as Mark Twain grew up. A mark is a fathom and twain is two. He was a riverboat pilot and Mark Twain means 2 fathoms. It is a lovely town on the Mississippi River. This river keeps popping up and so it should as it is huge and lengthy. Linton keeps wanting ...

    And we have discovered a little know fact. Springfield is actually a rainforest climate. It has rained extensively before we arrived and almost everyday since we have arrive. Lucky us!

    ... which is our minimum goal each day so we're very p,eased with our progress. Tomorrow we plan to leave VERY early so we'll be able to get out and do some site seeing.

    Tomorrow we should hit Oklahoma, Texas and land in Arizona... At least that's the plan! Lol! I'll post more as we go although I don't know that I'll be able to on a daily basis but I plan to at least once or twice a week!

    ... drive ahead of us.  If you ever do route 66 always add an extra hour/ two hours onto each journey time for stops & lunch.  Are first stop today was at Fan outpost & the worlds Largest rocking chair.
