... which have pontoons of different lenghts and sizes.
I also went to the grocery store because I knew they were giving out samples. Ok, not quite, but they were giving out samples and one was a grilled cheese dipped in lemon called Haloumi. The cheese by itself wouldn't have been "delicious" but with the lemon, it had a great zing. Can't wait to see what else NZ has in the food department (my favourite of departments).
Hope all is well back home!
... roads we are taking to get anywhere because the road signs are bad and our maps are bad! We did however make it eventually to the first campsite which a lady recommended to us. We only got slightly lost getting there! We spent the first night with no electricity thinking there was something wrong with the van and we were going to have to ring in the morning but we later spoke to fellow travellers and found out it was a problem with the power supply ...
Auckland, North Island, New Zealand deanandshira... off out west and would be willing to take us up over the mountain en route. So not only would we be getting our 45 minute ride over Mt. Cook but also out over the Fox Glacier and over west to the Frans Josef Glacier at no extra cost for the extra 30 minutes, chuffed we indeed were.
So straight away we hopped into the helicopter and off we were flying over the white mass of Mt. Cook, swerving into the crevasses and climbing high into the sky. Having not ...
I am attempting to give you all a little `snapshot' of our incredible trip, and I can imagine you will all breathe a sigh of relief when we come to day 21:):) Thursday 23rd April was our first `tour' to Southern and Central Armenia. This is where we visited (in the pouring rain) Khor Virap Monastery - I was `hell bent ' on seeing this, as the history fascinated me as The Pagan King at the time (early 2nd ...
Auckland, New Zealand mablim... been well worth the trouble.
We delivered the truck to the wharf to be shipped to Brisbane on April Fools Day to discover that the joke was on us. The ship has been delayed for 3 days and we needn't have been in such a rush after all. No matter, we left it with them and decided to continue to Brisbane anyway and enjoy a couple of free days there, and to make arrangements for its arrival.
... freaky. Out pacing it was NOT an option. Again i judged the moment of impact, swung my fist and yelled. It worked. I couldn't pick it up on the radar after that, it must have decided I was far enough out of it's zone and disappeared behind the first row of pines. Seconds later two old boy's drive past in a Toyota ute grinning their faces off. Yeah, cheap entertainment boys, they must have watched the whole attack from the safety of their glass windscreen. No Subway in Turangi ...
Warkworth, North Island, New Zealand goldenbez... does given that my section contained a part where I actually get air over the drop and hers takes in a tight corner. But get to the bottom laughing like little kids. As were hadn't brought jumpers with us we were getting cold and decided after our second trip to grab a coffee and chips. With a third and final run in hand we decided to go for the expert track and the brakes were considerably more needed on this very steep slope. This kind of thing would never be allowed in England as the ...
Auckland, North Island, New Zealand adam_and_kim... of 'The Mole who knew it was none of his business' with tabs to pull to get the full benefit of the action in the story. Yvonne suggested it was an unnecessary purchase and maybe some things are better left to the imagination! Having purchased sufficient sticker books for the journey, we headed off to our flight. We boarded the flight and Steven got stuck straight into Disney Playhouse channel and was settled ...
Auckland, North Island, New Zealand yvonne.stowe... to get some food and catching up on some blogging & emailing.
With that done we walked back up the steep hill to our hostel, and prepared for our last day in the continent of Australasia!
Before I went to bed I called Tim to wish him all the best for his wedding tomorrow, and to once more apologise for not being able to be there to share his best man ...

< br>Urban legends abound (whether actually true or not I don’t know) of people who’ve boarded a flight in Los Angeles and expected to land a short time later in Oakland, only to find that, when they do touch the ground 14 hours later, they’ve unwittingly left California far behind and ended up across the other side of the Pacific in Auckland. How on earth this could possibly happen I don’ ...
