Had a lunch at the Playwright Restaurant sitting in the warmth of the sun--vegetable soup for me, potato leek soup for Janice. Soups have been outstanding.

Sometimes, you wake up with the best of intentions but nothing goes your way. That's kind of what happened to us on Saturday. We decided to take the scenic route through the Wicklow Mountains, a portion of which is a national park. We stopped in Roundwood for lunch at the Coach House Tavern, a historic building with great food and huge portion sizes. Two of us had beef and Guinness casserole and two had cottage pie, which really hit the spot. Even Little D enjoyed scarfing down the beef and delicious sauce, along with a pile of mashed potatoes.
