What makes this spot so special is that the main building is literally a castle that is made entirely out of stone with wonderful gothic architecture etc. Also, the hallways are quite large so I can hear the echo of the classical music singing from the gift shop down the hall.

We left the cathedral, as the pamphlet instructed, "refreshed and hopeful" and walked over to Kilkenny Castle, which was unanimously (again!) voted the best part of the day trip. The Castle was restored to its Victorian splendor.
