    His take on our stay in Manchester Center:

    A wonderful location with trees turning to beautiful colours (colors) and some nice restaurants with less challenging American accents. We attended the Orvis Fly Fishing 2 day school at Orvis Headquarters. The building is itself very appealing and situated beside its' own casting ponds filled with rainbow trout to bring realism to outdoor practice sessions. ...

    After a peaceful few days in Fort Edward we moved on through Lock 6 and Lock 5, and we asked to tie up at Lock 4 where we intended to spend the night. Unfortunately when Marty went to talk to the lockmaster he could not allow us to stay overnight since there were big barges coming through.     ... and their historical society has done a wonderful job of marking sites, but I find it loud and busy for a small town. The park area we are in however is very peaceful.... all we here are ducks and blue jays. We will move on to Lock # 5 in a day or so where we are told we can dock overnight in a pretty park, and then on to Mechanicville at Lock #3. ...

    ... bring some samples home with us. While downtown Saint Johns is nothing to write home about, the surrounding areas are really beautiful. Rolling hills and beautiful lush/green scenery. We were happy when Josh & Jamie came to spend a day/night with us. We really enjoyed their visit.
