In some of the bigger towns, we had the luxury of comparing prices at different stations and choosing the cheapest. ... Rio Grande is back in the days uitgeslepen door een gletscher een heeft daarom aan beide kanten hoge rotswanden waardoor het effect van het raften versterkt wordt. De rivier loopt door een nationaal park waarvan een deel is vrijgegeven aan boeren.
Dit maakt dat je af en toe een boerderijtje ziet, maar dan wel zoals we dat kennen van het 'kleine huis op de prairy'.

... summer it comes alive with mountain bikers, hikers, kayaks etc. Mountain hikes take you to peaks that offer you sweeping views of the moutains and valleys of the Andes in all their glory. Southern Argentina is very different to the north and I was beginning to realise that there is not that this country does not have.
