Moosehead Lake was gorgeous and it set me up with a plan for Caroline and Thomas' visit this weekend. We would return to Greenville and take a ride in a sea plane to tour the area - stay tuned for my return trip! Slainte!
... lake is 40 miles by 20 . Biggish to be sure. They have ice races for cars in the winter (doh) on 4 feet of ice, described by the captain as "amusing". I do know that an Alfa GTV6 with 4 studded tires makes a very good ice racer... There's a good sized mountain outside of town that has ski runs. So the snowmobilers have some options. Katahdin. Saw plenty of wildlife: moose,
deer, loons, partridge, turkeys, chipmunks.
It was a wonderful visit.
